From the Earth to the Table
We believe that culinary excellence begins in the soil. At ACE, our philosophy is anchored in a deep respect for the land, seeing food not as a commodity but as a vital connection between our environment and our well-being.
Our workshops invite you to slow down and awaken your senses. By working with local, seasonal ingredients in a professional but grounded environment, we explore how awareness—from seed to shared plate—transforms the act of cooking into a meaningful, meditative experience.
The Five Pillars of Our Curriculum
Our workshops are built upon these foundational concepts, ensuring that every participant leaves with more than just techniques, but a deeper connection to the food they prepare and the land it comes from.
01
Soil and Origin
Understanding the red earth of Auroville and the local producers who tend it. We begin every culinary journey at the source, acknowledging the connection between soil and soul.
02
Seasonal Rhythm
Honouring the harvest cycles. Learning to adapt recipes based on what is vibrant and available in the Auroville kitchen garden today, rather than what is prescribed in a book.
03
Hands-on Craft
Moving beyond formulas to understanding. Building confidence through an intimate, hands-on knowledge of the fundamental balance between salt, fat, acid, and heat.
04
The Shared Table
Every session involves cooking together and ends with a shared meal. We find meaning in the collective effort of preparation and the communion of eating together.
05
Mindful Presence
Awareness of our journey from soil to plate. Exploring how our culinary choices reflect our presence in the world and impact the communities we inhabit.
Manu Bahuguna & Sacha Elder
ACE was born from a shared belief that the most profound culinary knowledge isn't found in formal credentials, but in the hands and hearts of people. For us, cooking is a bridge between the soil of the earth and the awareness of the soul. We established this initiative in Auroville to create a grounded sanctuary for culinary learning, far removed from the pressures of commercial kitchen culture.
Our journey is rooted in a deep respect for the land and the food it provides. We advocate for a return to the fundamentals: cooking together, sharing a meal, and rediscovering the joy of simple, seasonal ingredients cooked with intention. This initiative is our way of inviting you into a more thoughtful way of living, one workshop and one shared table at a time.
